All About Yours Truly

My name is Ummesalmah, which is Arabic for Mother of Peace. Hence the name for my blog. People around me generally call me “Salma” (peace) or “Umme” (which means mother… unfortunately my friends do think I’m the mom (and nerd) of our friend group). Anything works for me, I mean standardized tests know me as “Ummesalm” because my name doesn’t fit in the boxes. (insert Debby Downer’s horrendous noise).

You’ve heard old people feel young at heart, but what about young people feeling old at heart. I’m eighteen but I generally feel 40 at heart.  I generally think a lot, sometimes over think and I make un deep things deep (like when rain drops glide across the windows of a car). I also like talking (phone calls over texts any day) and dreaming, so I’m going to use this as an outlet for my free expression and to explore my ambitions, all the while motivating others to do more, be more, and seek more.
